Arnas Cibulskis - FlipSide Portfolio

Arnas' primary role is that of lead programmer. He has taken on the majority of programming related work, ensuring that correct OOP practices are carried out in order to maximize re usability and scalability. He has also delegated programming tasks to the other programmers and helped them out where needed.

His secondary role is design, having worked on concepts to aid in visualizing the game and the potential applications of augmented reality technology.

Training Day is an Augmented Reality puzzle game which aims to recreate some of the challenges faced by ABB Engineers. Using the Microsoft HoloLens, players will be able to work with machinery as if it was in the real world. Aided by an AI robot, G.U.S, players have to complete the task at hand, at the end of which they are given a performance report.

Arnas implemented a number of key systems in Training Day. These systems include a component system which allows users to disconnect and connect different objects to each other, an input system which detects both HoloLens input and computer input, allowing for easy debugging through the Unity Editor, and an Event System which recognizes a users inputs as events and uses this to track their progress through a puzzle.

Developing for the HoloLens was a learning experience for Arnas. He worked in multiple areas, including: debugging, input, and marker technology. He has recorded some of what he learned during the process.

During his time working on Training Day, Arnas was involved in a number of miscellaneous tasks ranging from developing the paper prototypes to recording voice lines for G.U.S. (Guided User System) and some design work.
