The task of a scrum master inside a scrum team will be

• Help tracking the progress of scrum team, and make sure it done in time.
• Help the scrum team to create progress to the project and achieve the target.
• Found and clear the obstacle of the scrum team.

There is 2 part in a sprint planning meeting,

Part 1 is define the goal and setup the task inside the sprint by considering the availability of the team and also velocity,

Part 2 is define how each task will be done.

Because we are newbie to a scrum team, so that is really common that we will have spillover task during the sprint.

The reason could be we wrongly estimate other task and that task, and squeeze the time in our sprint, or definition of done is not clear enough to done the task.

So there is 2 way to solve this problem, first one is decompose the sprint backlog item into 2 and move it into our next sprint. Or if it is not urgent to have it, then we can leave it into the buttom of the sprint backlog item, reconsider it when it is needed.

Most of the task in this project is just take into our next sprint if it is not done at that sprint.

Sprint goal, is helping the team to know what we going to deliver, we need to consider what is the most value of deliver now, and also what is the uncertainty now.

There is no strictly limit about should we define sprint goal first, or sprint task first, but usually the selection of sprint task is depend on the sprint goal. To define the sprint goal, we need to know what is the most make sense feature and having most valuable to our project at that stage.

Sprint backlog is the sprint task that need to be done. During sprint planning meeting, the team member will select number of sprint backlog item and place into the sprint saying that they will complete the backlog item during that sprint. The sprint backlog is both estimate in time and also story point. The story point is help to estimate how is the velocity in the project and whats the progression we doing in the development phase of the project. The time is use for scrum team estimate the time used in the sprint and how scrum team complete the task in that sprint.

The way our scrum team update our infomation is we conducting daily standup meeting, and it take place from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.
