CHARLIE BEHAN

3D Modeller

My main role is 3D modelling, working on developing all of the static 3D assets used in Training Day. Main areas of this development were, detailing all needed assets, sourcing original models, optimizing 3D typology of models, create a consistent art style to be used, developing a process to create all these models, ensuring all detailed needed was represented.

I also have been working on other tasks such as, creating the games logo, writing up a one page design document, creating an early prototype of Gus, storyboarding the game, visually representing the storyboard, working on presentations, writing other related documentation, and more.

CORMAC WHITE

Team Lead/Scrum Master

I have taken on the roles of Team Lead, Scrum Master and programmer for this project. I have worked with an array of technologies for Training Day including the Microsoft HoloLens, Leap Motion, Android ARCore, LyreBird AI, Amazon Polly, Windows Speech Engine and more. I was also responsible for designing the paper prototypes made throughout the development of Training Day.

Focusing on a voice command input system, I have been working on implementing fluid and contextual vocal controls into Training day using a Grammar Recognizer that feeds a customised grammar xml file into Microsoft's Cortana based AI API for natural language recognition. I have also worked with Kieran on finding a suitable tool for generating Dialog.

PADDY REID

Character Modeller/Animator

I am the Character modeler and Animator for my team. This role includes designing and creating the AI assistant (G.U.S) in the game, creating character animation, and various other tasks in relation to my role. G.U.S or Guided user system was modeled using 3ds max and later polished in unity using a shader and a spotlight. Another major part I am in charge of is bringing G.U.S to life with animation. Animations are created in 3ds max and exported into unity, this is where they will be scripted into different animation states, using scripts and the unity animator I am able to bring G.U.S to life in Training day. G.U.S is now ready to assist the trainee running our simulator.

Sound Design/Testing

For Training Day my roles are Sound Design and Testing. As the Sound Designer I have been responsible for the creation of GUS’s voice. I wrote dialogue scripts along with Cormac white for what GUS will say and then synthesized it. I have also produced Sound Effects for Interaction sounds, the UI and GUS SFX. Testing will be done by myself and Ciaran Mooney. I will be carrying out Exploratory tests with the intent of breaking our code. Exploratory tests will be broken down using Time boxed session management.

ARNAS CIBULSKIS

Main Programmer

I’m the lead programmer for Flipside, having worked on most of the major systems in the game. I’ve worked on complex functionality such as the Input System which allows a user to interact with objects in our game, an Event System which takes all player actions and tracks their progress through puzzles. I’ve also worked on more simpler things such as a Scoring System which keeps track of a users score through correct and incorrect actions and the implementation of marker tracking technology through Vuforia.

I’m heading up the front for User Interfaces for the team. I have designed different menus and UI items for the game and will be implementing more feedback for the user in game in terms of UI for Beta. I have taken another role of Tester along with Kieran Keegan. Together we will be covering different areas of testing; mine being white-box testing. I will be developing N-Unit Tests alongside our developers and keeping track of and prioritising bugs to ensure a quality product is delivered for Beta. I have currently also the role of updating and maintaining the group portfolio you are viewing right now.
